Greenweeks 2005

In 2005 Celebrate Sustainability, as it was called then, took place on 28 May to 18 June. Over 130 events and activities took place across Greater Nottingham. They included talks and open days, walks and bike rides, festivals, markets and fairs, a tour of eco-homes, litter picks and practical conservation sessions, environmental films and discussions on climate change.

Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust put on a whole series of events, including an opening gala, as part of National Wildlife Week. National Bike Week and World Environment Day were also a spur for may of the activities.

The three week programme was launched at Attenborough Nature Centre

The Green Festival joined in, making a successful change of date and venue to the Arboretum

Local authorities held events, including the Wheely Big Breakfast

Industry got involved too

A number of events were also  held at community gardens and allotments sites
